What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is at 3:00 PM and check-out is at 10:00 AM.

Is early check-in or late check-out available?
Please call within 24 hours of your reservation to see if this request can be accommodated.

Do you require a deposit to reserve a cabin?
Yes, a deposit of $30 per cabin, per night is required at the time of booking.

What is your cancellation policy?
We do not offer refunds for deposits.

• If cancellation is made more than 7 days in advance and we are able to rebook your cabin, we will hold your deposit for a future stay.
  

• If we cannot rebook, or if you cancel within 7 days, we reserve the right to keep the deposit.

How do I book a cabin?

Can I book online or by phone?
Currently by phone, there is an online option coming soon!

Is there a minimum stay requirement?
Some holiday weekends require a 3 night stay. Our typical minimum stay is 2 nights. If you are looking for a one night stay please call (207) 668-5621.

🛏️ Cabin Amenities

Are linens, towels, and bedding provided?
Yes — we provide all linens, towels, and bedding.

Do the cabins have kitchens or kitchenettes?
Yes, all cabins include full kitchens with all essential cooking utensils, an oven, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, and drip coffee maker (we provide the filters you bring ground coffee).

Are cooking utensils, plates, and cookware included?
Yes, our kitchens are fully stocked with all basic cookware and utensils.

Do the cabins have heat or air conditioning?
All cabins have heat. There is no air conditioning, but fans are provided.

Do cabins have TV or WiFi?
Yes, cabins include WiFi and smart TVs with some free programming and streaming capabilities.

Are there fire pits available at each cabin?
There is a shared lakeside fire pit that all guests are welcome to enjoy.

🐾 Pets & Families

Are pets allowed in all cabins?
We are dog-friendly! There is a $6 per night fee per dog. We welcome well behaved dogs. It is suggested that dogs be in kennel or crates while you are not in cabin. Please do not leave your dog if they will bark and disturb other guests as this will not be tolerated. You will be responsible for any and all damages from your dog. Please pick up all dog waste and put in the outside trash barrel at your cabin.

Are the cabins suitable for families with young children?
Yes — we welcome families and love seeing kids enjoy the outdoors! Some of the cabins have partial open lofts if travelling with young children it may be best to call for the best options available for your family.

Do you provide cribs, high chairs, or child safety items?
No, we do not provide baby gear. Please plan to bring your own.

❄️ Outdoor Recreation & Seasonal Activities

Do you offer direct snowmobile or ATV trail access?
Yes — we have trail access right from our property for both snowmobiles and ATVs.

Can I ice fish on Big Wood Lake?
Absolutely! The lake is officially open for ice fishing beginning Jan 1. We also rent ice fishing shacks daily in the winter and have a live bait shop on-site (Jan & Feb when supply is available).

Are there hiking trails nearby?
Yes — there are several scenic hiking trails in the area. Ask us for recommendations! A few of our favorite shorter hikes

Do you rent snowmobiles or ATVs?
We do not rent them directly, but rentals are available nearby through local businesses.

🌊 Lake Access & Boating

How far is the lake from the cabins?
Most cabins are just a few steps from the lake, while a few are across the road.

Is there a beach or swim area?
Yes — there is a natural swim area. We recommend wearing water shoes due to the rocky lakebed.

Can I bring my own boat?
Yes!

• Smaller aluminum boats can be pulled up onto the shore.
  

• Larger boats can be launched at the public boat ramp just steps from our property.
  

Is there a dock available for guest boats?
Not at this time.

Are fishing licenses required?
Yes — a valid Maine fishing license is required to fish on Big Wood Lake.

Are you within walking distance to town?
Yes — we’re just one block from restaurants, a gas station, and a convenience store.

Where is the closest gas station or grocery store?

• Gas: Located right at the top of the neighborhood.
  

• Groceries: The nearest grocery store is 1 mile north on Route 201.

Are there restaurants nearby?
Yes — several within walking distance, and others about 30 minutes away by car.

Do you have maps or local recommendations available?
Yes! We have snowmobile and ATV trail maps and can connect guests with local fishing or hunting guides, hiking spots, and other area attractions.

Do you allow events or large gatherings?
We may, depending on the time of year. Please call us at (207) 668-5621 to discuss your plans.

Is smoking allowed inside the cabins?
No — there is a $300 fine for smoking inside the cabins.

What should I bring with me?
We recommend bringing:

• Paper towels (not provided)

• Your favorite coffee grounds (coffee filters are provided)

• Water shoes for swimming or wading

• Any baby items (cribs/high chairs not provided)

• Charcoal if you would like to use one of our grills (not permitted to use on porches or decks)
